Welcome to Fiction Faeries--two authors chasing joy in creativity!
We are authors Amanda Torrey and Christine DePetrillo, and our mission is to amplify arts, whimsy, and the magic of the written word. Our goal is to meet authors and other creative people, go behind the scenes into the creative process, build a whimsical and weird (in all the best ways) community, highlight the power of play (yes, even for the middle-aged among us), and find joy in creativity.
Will you join us?
Each episode will feature playful conversations between Christine and me as we delve into all things whimsical and creative. We share the big and small things that bring us joy, dare each other to be whimsical and joyful (among other things!) and put a positive spin on life even when things are chaotic.
We also welcome special guests on the show so you can engage with a variety of creative ideas! <3 We hope we can spark joy and creativity in you, the listener/viewer (or as we like to affectionately call you--Joyling!)
So welcome to our Joyling tribe! It's quite joyful here! :)

Oh, and I shouldn't work so hard to humiliate myself (hee, hee), but there are some dance videos on that Substack link that you won't wanna miss. It was our episode 2 dare--to dance joyfully outside our houses. Not really a fair dare, if you ask me, because Christine lives in the middle of the woods while I live on a very public Main Street! Tune in to see how we handled it. :)
Much love,
~Amanda :)
PS--if you've ever wanted to really get to know an author (or two), I highly recommend listening to the podcast. You'll get to know parts of us (and our guests) that don't typically appear elsewhere online. :)
